Not feeling myself today

Dear all

Sorry but i'm ill and so won't be in school today.  however, there is plenty for you all to do!

[1] update your research blog - this is due in about 3 weeks time.  you need at least 10 pages by the deadline.

[2] upload any of the design projects not yet on your blog

[3] read the film and narrative booklets given out last week - this is supplementary to the lessons over the next two weeks

Gallery 2 page added

Dear all

Check out the new page - Gallery 2 - to see a short film of all of the magazine designs submitted for the November assessment.  some very impressive work!

Well done to everyone!

Your assessment will be finalized next week once we've had chance to read all of the feature articles.  The designs look mighty impressive - you've really taken on board the theory and taught skills.  The presentations last week were also very good in showing your abilities in analyzing your own work - these have really come on since the fashion brief presentations and show how well you are developing.

Enjoy the film!

November assessments and Coursework research deadlines

Dear all

A slideshow of the magazine work will be put together later this week - be certain to have uploaded your final versions so that they can be included and your grade can be awarded.

Be certain to check the coursework support page for the latest suggestion/guidance for completing good research.  This is to do with the audience and is key to success in the final production of your work.  The research for all tasks has to be completed by the end of term.

Make certain that you are accessing your blog each week and updating it.

Magazine Design Project

Dear all

well, it's the new module and for the next 6 lessons [4th-11th November] you are involved in creating and then constructing a magazine targeted at a youth audience.  The full details are over on the 'practical tasks' tab of this site but the key issue is to have the practical pages completed by the 11th and then work with your partner to create your 5 minute presentation on your magazine [why this area of interest?/ title - why?/ how targeted to appeal to your audience?/ which features and pix you chose - why?].  Remember that, just like your coursework next term, your grade will be for both the design and the actual content of the magazine and your presentation of the ideas behind it.

Use Publisher or Serif [PC] or Pages or InDesign [Mac] and submit the final work as jpeg images of your work

You need to register at the start of each lesson and at some point you will also have your 1:1 tutorial about your work and progress.
